coffee cup lids are like sippy cups for big people

You may be missing out on a large percentage of your coffee experience if you slap a lid on your cup suck it down like a baby.
Coffee enjoyment requires your nose and mouth together working like a team of lawn care specialists.
Think about it, sucking your amazing cup of coffee through a little oval hole in a plastic lid is blocking out all the sensory sensations and deep rooted aroma. Sippy cupping your coffee through a lid is the major hipster faux pas of our current coffee craze. Wake up people and take the lid off before you drink!

Kourtni Johnson sippy cupping

Coffee experts in secret cupping rooms are breathing in the origins, huffing and slurping from special spoons to bring you these gorgeous beans from around the world.
Do you drink your fine wine through a straw?
Don’t get me wrong, covering your coveted cup of joe is fine with me, I’m just saying take the lid off and drink it like a grown up.

I have thought this for years! For me, three-quarters of the enjoyment in a cup of coffee is the steam drifting towards my face before I drink it. I always take the lid off!

Dude that’s me! I never thought of it that way! But ya gotta use a sippy cup in the car…

With what passes for coffee these days (c-store, gas station, that chain with the green sign, and other purveyors that automatically slap a lid on your cup), it may be just as well to drink it with the lid on. Are they trying to hide something? Most people have never had a proper cup of coffee – they are more likely to use it for medicinal purposes rather than for enjoyment.

I even never understood the little lid.
I though… ok it’s for drinking so how the heck should i drink coffee from a 1/8 of an inch hole?! I better use a straw! right?!

    Anyway

    1) It’s just way to small to drink from
    2) if you drink very hot coffee you will burn your mouth because you cant slurp.
    3) why do these mcdonalds lids have this little plastic flap near the hole? It’s to close the hole right?! Well it doesn’t work.

so please take of the lid .
