Where, oh, where at the Art Fair?

You can tell by the way people are driving that it's art fair. It's not that they turn too slow or go too fast it's just that they're totally lost and more confused then normal. No amount of drugs or coffee can help. Just remember; You'd drive like that too if someone blocked your route with one of the nation's largest and longest running art fairs.

Check this cool staging site that Jocelyn Anderson built for us so you can track roosroast and the coffee trike

RoosRoast is your gateway drug.

In this business people tell me their coffee woes all day long. If I hear one more story from somebody who bought coffee at Trader Joes and had to throw it away, I'm going to rent a plane and fly a banner across town proclaiming "know your roast date people!" As a self-proclaimed coffee doctor I always, of course, prescribe RoosRoast. This is across the board, the cure for everyone --from poverty-level grad students to SUV driving Republicans. We have blends and single origins to fit everybody's needs but most of all: we roast date our bags. We roast in small batches and we're not available in super stock stores who do the local-speak and greenwashing. And if you look closely, our coffee ounce per ounce is the finest gourmet deal around. We sell full pounds of premium coffee, not those puny 12 ounce bags.

This is the dope.

See you at the market tomorrow. We'll be drinking a high grown Columbian, one of my favorite coffees and sure to give you a nice well-rounded buzz for the day.

RoosRoast is your gateway drug to better coffee. Thanks for reading.

Announcing Jozo Wolffe Weider Roos He's my Cup of JOE!

Hear John on Home Grown 6 PM Sunday May 16th 2010 click here
keep reading and scrolling down for full story!

Yes, a new member of the Roos family! Look at this photo by his amazing mother Kath Weider Roos

Little Jozo 10 days old and right here in the in the sling strapped to my chest writing you and now screaming because he wants to eat from his Mommy!
Check him out on my face book page and twitter posts. Just click on the social networking icon links on the right side of this page

Today marks the 1st time Kath and I have been able to eat a civilized meal together partaking in food abd RoosRoast which is still HOT!

As part of the fetish "we want better more creative products generation" I'm pulling shots from the Ranchilio epoch and Rocky grinder combo and Jozo is wearing washable cloth diapers. I plan on making a HOW To video on the beauty of making espresso while holding a new born.

Gotta keep the RoosRoast fresh was well as the diapers and blog.

Brian and Michelle have been rockin the Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Sales on the web site have been down but the Coffee Works Location is Awesome. It's the great secret place to take a bike ride to and get some beans.

Here is the coolest thing for the summer of 2010 the latest edition to The Roos Empire is Ryan Smith with his RoosRoast Coffee Trike 1.0. Ryan is serving pour over cups legally in Ann Arbor.
Right now his frist regular spot is Sunday's at the Artisan Market in Kerry town. Follow his location on twitter at key word roosroast. Future location: The Train Station in the AM, U of M Hospital. the outskirts of Summer Fest... stay tuned

I'm going to finish this Blog Brief with the strong feeling I have everyday as house chef of all our meals:

To live in a community who so vigorously supports local business is amazing. These greens we're eating from Tantre Farms, eggs from Family Farm LLC, smoked salmon form Trackelments on Kingsley and Coffee from RoosRoast. That is only scraping the surface of how great the food is here locally in Ann Arbor.
Thanks to all of you who have been feeding and helping us since Jozo showed up on the scene!

Lastly tune into Home Grown the pod cast by my friends Chris Donelley and Carol Banker today at 6:00 PM just go to www.talkshoe.com on sunday at 6pm or just before and search for Homegrown. (It's the one with the hands passing the carrots ) then click the listen live now button. Or they can listen later as it is archived on talkshoe.com or our site www.homegrownlocal.com or on itunes.

Pot Holes, coffee and Ann Arbor Deep Local. Who has the freshest roast?, who has the best espresso? Who knows about pot holes?

I used to write about pot holes all the time and people would ask, 'What do pot holes have to do with coffee?'

The answer: Coffee and Pot Holes are every day events if you live in Ann Arbor.

How do I know? How do we know at RoosRoast? Because we're out on bikes delivering coffee with trailers, selling coffee from trikes and drinking coffee in a highly caffeineated state all over these Ann Arbor roads. And when we hit a pot hole we know!

Pot Holes are essential to the Deep Local Experience of living in Ann Arbor. We are deep local so believe me we know coffee, Ann Arbor and pot holes.

Ryan Smith Toured Europe last summer on bike pulling a trailer.
In Amsterdam he was inspired by all the hotties on bikes and all the businesses on bikes so he made it his goal to return to Michigan and sell RoosRoast from a bike. Over the winter he contacted me about doing a coffee trike.

Look for the RoosRoast coffee Trike 1.0 out on these Ann Arbor Roads. Ryan's Coffee Trike

Brian and Michelle at the Market and me, I'm hanging out with Jozo Wolffe the new Roos in the Roast.

Twitpics of Roos, Kath and Jozo Wolffe Roos
More on that later and thanks for a great weekend.

Who has the best pot hole shots?

Thanks for reading and Jozo (it's the coolest thing to have him in a sling right now as I write you all this blog! Amen!) and I remain your faithful wirters and Roasters of fine coffee.

Remember tomorrow is the 1st day of the Ann Arbor Farmers (Wednesday) market and so we will see you there at 7 AM till 3:00 With Coffee.

We have started to develop a following in an area I was earlier calling "The heart of Nothingness"

Since Ann Arbor is so seasonal and transient I will keep posting this for those of you who suddenly find yourself in town and need to take a break from the heat or road construction.

Another new development this year is Ryan Smith out on the RoosRoast Coffee Trike.
Ryan will be hitting the streets as a coffee pedaler (literally ) with an official peddlers license from the Health Department and the City of Ann Arbor in the early mornings doing pour over cups and fresh brewed hot cups for those with no time to wait. If you have any ideas of great places with people who need an awesome cup of coffee tell us the location and time and we'll try to make it there. Also we will be tweeting our location and giving discounts for people who help us promote!

Last of all Kath and I and everyone else are still waiting for the little Roos hatch... Keep ya'll posted
